Teen Terms

Effective October 23, 2026. Version 2026-10-23.

These are the rules for members who are 13 to 17. They are short on purpose. They are an agreement between you and NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd, which runs Tethrd. Your parent or guardian also accepts an agreement, called the Guardian Agreement. You do not give up any of your legal rights by accepting these terms.

1. What Tethrd is

Tethrd is a private network for your club, school or team. You keep a simple profile. You see opportunities like summer jobs, internships and shadowing. You can ask to be introduced to people. Only people in your communities can see your profile. There are no ads and no feed.

2. Who can join

You must be at least 13. You can join only a community that allows members under 18. A parent or legal guardian has to accept the Guardian Agreement, and your community has to confirm them. Until then, you can fill in your profile, but you cannot join communities or message anyone. If no parent is confirmed within 14 days, we delete your account. You can have only one account, and your birth month and year must be true.

3. Your parent is part of every conversation

Your parent gets a copy of every message you send or get on Tethrd, by email. They can also write in your conversations. Your parent must say yes before you are introduced to someone and before you apply to an opportunity. Your parent can stop any conversation. You can have up to three parents or guardians linked, and any of them can do these things.

4. What you agree to do

Be kind and be honest. Use your real name and your real birth month and year. Do not pretend to be someone else.

Do not share your phone number, email, home address, or social media names, and do not ask for anyone else's. Tethrd blocks these in messages.

Keep your conversations on Tethrd. If someone asks you to talk somewhere else, to keep a secret from your parent, or to meet without your parent knowing, do not do it, and report it.

If you meet someone in person for an opportunity, the time and place must be set in the Tethrd conversation, where your parent can see it.

Never send or ask for sexual pictures or messages. Do not bully, threaten or make fun of anyone. Do not try to get around any of Tethrd's safety rules.

5. What Tethrd does

We add your parent to every conversation you are in. We block contact details in your messages. We never put two members under 18 in the same conversation. We do not show you ads or sell your information. Emails to you are turned off unless you turn them on. When they are on, we send them only between 4 pm and 8 pm on school days, and between 8 am and 8 pm on other days. Our staff review reports.

We do not check who other members are, and we cannot promise that everyone will act the right way. That is why the rules above matter.

6. If something feels wrong

Use the Report button on any profile, message or opportunity. You can also tell your parent or another adult you trust. You can email us at support@tethrd.us yourself, including if there is a problem with a parent or guardian linked to your account. We aim to look at reports about members under 18 within 24 hours.

If you are in danger, call 911. If someone asks you for sexual pictures or has shared one of you, you can report it to the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. When we find child sexual abuse material, sex trafficking or someone trying to lure a child, we report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as the law requires. If an intimate picture of you was shared without your OK, anyone can ask us to take it down at tethrd.us/legal/takedown.

7. Your profile and messages

What you post belongs to you. You let us store it and show it to the people Tethrd shows it to: members of your communities, the people in your conversations, and your parents. You cannot edit or delete a message after you send it. Copies already emailed to your parent cannot be taken back.

8. Your data

We keep only what Tethrd needs to work. The Privacy Policy explains the details. You can download your data from Settings. You or your parent can ask us to delete your account at any time. Messages you sent stay in the other person's conversation until that conversation's deletion date.

We do not use your data for anything extra right now. If we ever want to, we will ask you on a separate screen, and your parent will be asked too. Saying no is always fine.

9. If you break the rules

We may remove what you posted, pause your account, or close it. We may tell your parent.

10. When you turn 18

Your parent stops getting copies of your messages on the first day of the month after your 18th birthday. We will tell you and your parent at the start of your birthday month. Then you will be asked to accept the adult Member Terms before you can keep using Tethrd. Those terms do not change anything that happened before you turned 18.

11. Changes

If we change these terms, we will tell you and your parent and ask you to accept the new version.

12. Your rights

Nothing in these terms takes away your right to go to court, or limits what you can claim if you are hurt. If you have a problem with us, please contact us first at support@tethrd.us so we can try to fix it. New Jersey law applies to these terms. If you live in New York, you also keep the protections New York law gives you.
