Member Terms
Effective October 23, 2026. Version 2026-10-23.
These terms are the agreement between you and NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd, which runs Tethrd. They apply to every member 18 or older. They explain what Tethrd does, the rules you agree to follow, how messages with members under 18 work (their parents get a copy of every message), what happens to your data, and how disputes are handled. Section 21 says that for most disputes you give up a jury trial; it does not take away your right to go to court, and we do not use arbitration. Members 13 to 17 accept the shorter Teen Terms instead, and their parent or guardian accepts the Guardian Agreement.
1. Who we are
Tethrd is run by NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd, a protected series of NovaHawk Labs LLC, a Texas series limited liability company. In these terms, "Tethrd", "we" and "us" mean NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd, and "you" means the member accepting these terms. Our mailing address is 1122 Colorado St, Unit 1410, Austin, TX 78701 and our support address is support@tethrd.us.
Under Texas law, the debts, liabilities and obligations of NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd can be enforced only against the assets of NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd, and not against the assets of NovaHawk Labs LLC generally or of any other series of it. This does not reduce what NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd itself owes you under these terms or under the law.
Tethrd is used by communities such as clubs, schools, teams and alumni groups. Each community has its own agreement with us and is run by its own admins, who decide who may join it. Community admins are not our employees or agents.
2. Who can use Tethrd under these terms
You must be 18 or older to accept these terms. People 13 to 17 may use Tethrd only under the Teen Terms, only in a community that has turned on access for members under 18, and only once a parent or legal guardian has accepted the Guardian Agreement and the community has confirmed them. Tethrd is not for anyone under 13.
You may have one account. You enter your birth month and year once, when you sign up. They are never shown to other members, and only support can correct them.
3. Accepting these terms
You accept these terms by checking the box that says you agree to them and continuing. We record which version you accepted and when. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you post opportunities, you also accept the Poster Terms before your first post. If you are the parent or guardian of a member under 18, the Guardian Agreement also applies to you.
4. Your account
Keep your profile accurate and current, and do not pretend to be someone else. You can sign in with email or Google. Keep your sign-in methods secure and do not let anyone else use your account. Tell us at support@tethrd.us if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for what is done through your account unless it was used without your permission and you could not reasonably have prevented it.
5. What Tethrd does and does not do
Tethrd shows you the people in the communities you belong to and a list of opportunities (jobs, internships, part-time work, internal referrals and shadowing) posted in those communities, newest first. Nothing on Tethrd is visible to anyone outside the communities you share. You can ask for introductions and apply to opportunities.
Tethrd connects members. It does not employ, place, recommend or vouch for anyone. We are not a party to any job, internship, referral or shadowing arrangement, and we do not check what members say about themselves or about the opportunities they post. We do not run background checks on members. Communities decide who joins them.
6. Members under 18 and their parents
Tethrd handles conversations with members under 18 in these ways:
Every conversation with a member under 18 includes each of their linked parents or guardians, and each of them gets a copy of every message by email. Parents can also write in the conversation; their messages are labeled "Parent". Before you send your first message in a conversation with a member under 18, Tethrd shows you a notice naming the parent who is copied, and you must confirm that you understand it.
A conversation with a member under 18 opens only after a parent approves the introduction or the application. A conversation never includes more than one member under 18, and members under 18 cannot request introductions to each other.
Phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles and the names of messaging apps cannot be sent in a conversation with a member under 18. Tethrd blocks them, and the block applies to parents too.
A parent can stop any conversation with their child at any time, which closes it. If no parent's email address is working, the conversation is paused until a parent confirms their email.
Email copies already sent to parents cannot be recalled.
You agree not to ask a member under 18 to talk with you outside Tethrd, to share contact details, to keep anything from their parent, or to meet you without their parent knowing. If an opportunity or introduction involves meeting in person, agree the time and place in the Tethrd conversation, where the parent can see it.
7. Conduct rules
Be respectful and honest. You agree not to: harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone; post hateful content; post sexual content of any kind; ask any member for sexual content or a romantic or sexual relationship when they are under 18; share an intimate image of anyone without their consent; impersonate anyone or misstate who you are or who you work for; post opportunities that are false, misleading, illegal or that charge applicants a fee; send spam or repeated unwanted requests; collect other members' information to use outside Tethrd; copy or scrape Tethrd by automated means; try to get around any block, limit or safeguard, including the contact-details block and parent approvals; use someone else's account; or break the law using Tethrd.
Community admins can remove a member from their community. We can remove content and suspend or close accounts across every community (section 16).
8. Child safety, intimate images and law enforcement
When we learn of apparent child sexual abuse material, child sex trafficking or online enticement of a minor, we report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as federal law requires, and we keep the related content and records as the law requires. We may suspend the accounts involved without notice.
Anyone, with or without an account, can ask us to remove an intimate image of them that was shared without their consent, using the form at tethrd.us/legal/takedown. We act on valid requests within 48 hours, remove the copies we know of, and block the same file from being uploaded again.
We disclose information to law enforcement when we receive valid legal process, when there is an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury, or as the law otherwise allows or requires.
9. Reports and moderation
You can report any profile, message, opportunity or community, and choose a category. Community admins review reports about their community, except reports about child safety, intimate images or members under 13, and reports about their own admins. Those go only to Tethrd staff.
We aim to review reports involving a member under 18, child safety or a member under 13 within 24 hours, reports about intimate images within 48 hours, and other reports within 7 days.
A moderator can read a reported conversation only while the report about it is open, and every such read is logged. Moderators can remove a message, a post or a profile photo that breaks these terms. A removed message is replaced with "Message removed by a moderator."
10. Messages
Conversations open only from an accepted introduction, an application, or an admin action. There are no open direct messages. Members cannot edit or delete messages once sent. Section 6 explains how conversations with members under 18 work, and section 15 explains how long messages are kept.
11. Opportunities
Only members 18 or older can post opportunities, and they must accept the Poster Terms first. Posts open to members under 18 must meet the minimum ages, hours and setting rules shown in the posting form, and some are held for a community admin's review before members under 18 can apply. Decisions about hiring, pay and working conditions are made by the poster and the applicant, not by us.
12. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post, including your profile, messages, notes and opportunities. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, copy, display and send that content only to run Tethrd: to show it to the people Tethrd shows it to (members of communities you share, the people in a conversation, and the parents copied on conversations with a member under 18), to send notifications and parent copies, to keep backups, to moderate, and to meet our legal duties. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
This license ends when your content is deleted, except for messages that stay in other people's conversations under section 15, backups until they expire, and copies the law requires us to keep.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post. If you send us suggestions about Tethrd, we may use them without paying you.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Tethrd infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent: Copyright Agent, NovaHawk Labs LLC, Series Tethrd, 1122 Colorado St, Unit 1410, Austin, TX 78701, copyright@tethrd.us. The notice must include your physical or electronic signature; the work you say is infringed; the material you want removed and enough information for us to find it; your name, address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
If we remove your content because of a notice, we will tell you. You can send our agent a counter-notice with your signature, the material removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address. We then send the counter-notice to the person who complained and restore the material in 10 to 14 business days, unless they tell us they have filed a court action.
We close, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe. Ordinarily, a member whose content is removed after three valid notices in any 12 months, not reversed by a counter-notice, loses their account.
14. Privacy and your data
The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, who can see it and how long we keep it. We do not show ads, sell personal data or use third-party trackers. You can download your data at any time from Settings.
15. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We delete it within 30 days, usually overnight, and you can cancel the request until then. Your profile and personal data are deleted. Messages you sent stay in the other people's conversations, shown as from "Deleted member", until that conversation's retention date: for a conversation that included a member under 18, three years after the first day of the month after that member turns 18; for other conversations, 365 days after the last participant's account is deleted. We keep information longer only where the law requires it.
16. Suspension and closing accounts
We may remove content, suspend your account or close it if you break these terms or the law, if you put other members at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we can do so safely and lawfully, we will tell you what we did and why, and you can ask for a review at support@tethrd.us. You can stop using Tethrd at any time.
17. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we post the new version with a new effective date and ask you to accept it before you continue using Tethrd. If a change reduces your rights or changes how disputes are handled, we will tell you by email and in Tethrd at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law or a safety need requires it sooner. If you do not accept a new version, you can download your data and delete your account. A change does not apply to a dispute that arose before the change took effect.
18. What we promise and what we do not
Sections 6, 8 and 9 describe how Tethrd works. They describe safeguards, not results: they do not guarantee that no member will misbehave. We do not promise that Tethrd will always be available or free of errors, that members are who they say they are, that profiles or opportunities are accurate, or that any introduction or application will lead to anything. When a community confirms a parent, it does so by its roster, by an admin who knows the family, or by a small card check; none of these is a check of legal identity or custody. Other members are responsible for what they say and do.
Apart from the commitments in these terms and in the Privacy Policy, we provide Tethrd as it is and as available, without other promises, including implied promises that it suits a particular purpose.
19. Limits on our liability
If we are responsible for a loss you suffer, our total liability to you for all claims connected with Tethrd is limited to $100. We are not responsible for lost profits, lost earnings, lost opportunities, or indirect or consequential losses.
These limits do not apply to any of the following: claims for death or bodily injury; losses caused by our fraud, gross negligence, recklessness or intentional misconduct; our liability under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the New Jersey Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act, or sections 349 and 350 of the New York General Business Law; any claim about something that happened while you were under 18; and any claim by a parent or guardian arising from harm to their child.
20. Your responsibility for claims about your content
If someone else brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you knowingly broke these terms, you will pay our reasonable costs of that claim, including reasonable attorney's fees, to the extent the claim was caused by your content or your breach and not by us. This section does not apply to anything you did while you were under 18.
21. Disputes: going to court and giving up a jury
For most disputes with us, you give up your right to a jury trial: a judge, not a jury, will decide them. We give up our right to a jury too. This covers disputes about your account, your content, your data, our service and these terms. It does not cover claims for bodily injury, claims about anything that happened while you were under 18, a parent's or guardian's claim arising from harm to their child, or any case about sexual assault or sexual harassment. You keep your right to sue us in court. We do not use arbitration, and you do not give up the right to join a class action.
Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, email support@tethrd.us with a short description of the problem and what you want. We will try to resolve it within 30 days. You do not have to wait if you need urgent relief from a court, if a legal deadline is near, or if your claim qualifies for small claims court.
Where to file. You may bring a claim against us in the state or federal court for the county where you live, or in the state or federal courts in New Jersey. We will bring a claim against you only in the state or federal court for the county where you live. Either of us may use small claims court if the claim qualifies.
22. Governing law
New Jersey law and applicable federal law govern these terms and any dispute about them. If you live in New York, you also keep the protections that New York consumer law gives you.
23. General terms
These terms, the Privacy Policy and, where they apply to you, the Poster Terms and the Guardian Agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about Tethrd. If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
We may transfer these terms to a company or series that takes over Tethrd, and we will tell you if we do. You may not transfer your account or these terms.
We send notices to the email address on your account and in Tethrd. Send notices to us at support@tethrd.us and, for legal notices, also by mail to 1122 Colorado St, Unit 1410, Austin, TX 78701.
Sections 12 (for content that stays after deletion), 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 continue after your account is closed.
